it is impossible to live this area without given some type of recognition to the extraordinary event that happened earlier this summer. it was time for the 17 year cicadas. this patient little bugs hide in the ground for 17 years only to come out to court each other during a hectic 6 weeks period. they are increadibly loud, above 70 db which was like a person talking very louf from about 2 meters distance. some people hate this event, but i saw it as a marvel of nature. i manage to get my macro delivered in time to get a quick unplanned shot of one as the whole phenomenon was coming to an end.
